Nedeljko Pažin has been keeping bees for around twenty years. He was born and raised in Zupci, a plateau above Trebinje, in the hamlet of Potkraj, located right at the meeting point of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro. Situated approximately 12 kilometres along the Trebinje–Herceg Novi road, at an altitude of around 640 metres, this area offers ideal conditions for beekeeping. Nedeljko’s family apiary is home to approximately 300 bee colonies. In addition to sage, heather, and meadow honey, the family produces a wide range of other bee products, including immune-boosting preparations, honey with nettle, honey with royal jelly, honeycomb, bee pollen, propolis drops, royal jelly, honey brandy, propolis-infused rakija, and dried figs and walnuts preserved in honey. The entire family is involved in this wonderful tradition. Bees, honey, and healthy living are at the heart of their everyday lives. Visitors are welcome to explore the apiary, taste their delicious homemade products, and enjoy walks through the unforgettable rural landscapes surrounding the farm. There is a special saying about the Pažin family's honey: “Three countries in one jar.” With the apiary situated at the crossroads of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia, their honey truly captures the unique natural richness of this border region.
