Uzgajaju poznato gatačko goveče i od njega proizvode sir, kajmak i meso, a u svom pčelinjaku proizvodi čitavu paletu pčelinjih proizvoda. Not far from the Nevesinje–Gacko main road, in the village of Gradina, you will be welcomed by Dimitrije, a young farmer, together with his large and close-knit family – his wife and their four sons. From the moment you arrive, you will feel the warmth of a family home and genuine Herzegovinian hospitality. Before you even have a chance to sit down, Dimitrije will bring out a selection of homemade rakija, each one seemingly better than the last, making it difficult to decide which one to choose. Dimitrije’s ancestors were renowned livestock farmers and beekeepers, and he has continued their tradition while further developing and expanding the family farm. The family raises the well-known Gatačko cattle, producing their own cheese, kajmak and meat, while Dimitrije’s apiary provides a wide range of honey and other bee products. Through an informal conversation with your hosts, you will learn a great deal about the everyday life and work of farmers in the Gacko region, as well as the traditions and customs that have shaped life here for generations. And while Dimitrije’s family prepares the products you have chosen to take home, take a walk across the picturesque slopes of Gradina and breathe in the scent of its mountain meadows.
