As of 7 October 2026, the Berkovići entrepreneur fund call (up to 5,000 KM to start a business, up to 15,000 KM for bakeries, restaurants and food delivery) is still published and runs until the money is used up, at the latest until the end of 2026. Ask the municipality (059/860-111) whether funds remain. The ProBio BiH call for 20 farmers closed on 2 September 2026.
As of 7 October 2026, Berkovići municipality has one call for entrepreneurs that is still published (the Fund for subsidising the start and growth of entrepreneurial activity) and one closed call for farmers (ProBio BiH). Calls for farmers have so far been published separately, each tied to a project with a donor. The details below come from the municipality's official website.
In short
- Fund for subsidising the start and growth of entrepreneurial activity (call no. 02-020-40-1/26 of 21 April 2026): component 1, up to 5,000 KM to start a business, or up to 15,000 KM for bakery production and sales, restaurants and food delivery (activities the municipality considers in short supply). Component 2, up to 5,000 KM per beneficiary towards taxes and contributions for a newly hired worker. Component 3, up to 3,000 KM (at most 70% of the purchase value) for equipment, machines and tools.
- The call is still on the municipal website and stays open until the money is used up, at the latest until the end of 2026. It has not been published whether the 2026 money is already spent, so ask the municipality before you start preparing documents.
- The Fund does not finance primary farming. Catering and bakery businesses can apply. For other food processing, ask the municipality.
- ProBio BiH (call no. 02-33-4-1/26 of 19 August 2026): equipment, tools and materials for up to 20 farmers, up to 1,000 EUR each, paid in KM at the equivalent value. The deadline passed on 2 September 2026.
Who it applies to
- Fund, conditions for all applicants: residence in Berkovići municipality, a business idea described in the application form, and no conviction for crimes against the economy or property.
- Components 2 and 3 are only for businesses that are already registered and based in the municipality. For component 2, the new worker must also live in the municipality.
- Component 1: a selected applicant must register as a sole trader within 60 days of signing the contract. If you are employed and are selected, you must register it as a secondary activity and hire at least one full-time worker.
- Anyone who used component 2 money in the previous year cannot apply to this call. The call does not limit this ban to component 2, so it applies to the whole call.
- ProBio (closed): individuals who live in the municipality and farm or plan to start farming. Young people, women and socially or financially vulnerable applicants had priority. Anyone who received farm equipment, tools or materials from the municipality in the last two years (as a donation or co-financing) could not apply, nor could municipal administration staff and close family members in their household.
What to do
- Follow the municipal website and notice board. Forms for all three Fund components can be downloaded from the call page. The statement forms are available at the municipality's reception office.
- Fund, component 1 documents: completed business plan, copy of your ID card, proof of residence, a certificate from the Zavod za zapošljavanje (Employment Bureau) or, instead, a certificate from the Poreska uprava (Tax Administration) that you are not a taxpayer, your employer's confirmation if you are employed, and a statement that you have no criminal conviction.
- Component 2: application form, ID cards of the owner and the worker, business registration decision, the worker's Employment Bureau certificate (or a Tax Administration certificate, or the worker's tax return), and a statement that the worker will stay registered for at least 18 months.
- Component 3: application form, owner's ID card, registration decision, pro forma invoice for the equipment, and a statement that the equipment stays yours for at least 36 months. Certified statements must not be dated before the call was published.
- Submit at the municipality's reception office or send by registered post to the department's address (below), marked with the name of the call and "NE OTVARATI" (do not open).
- ProBio also required certified pro forma invoices, a certified household list, proof of income and unemployment of household members, certified statements that the equipment will not be sold or given away for three years, and proof of a bank account. Expect similar documents for the next call for farmers.
Deadlines and amounts
- Fund: the commission meets no later than 30 days after the call is published, then every 30 days until the money is spent. The contract runs for 18 months, and the business may not be deregistered during that time. If a component 2 worker leaves on their own, you must hire a new one within 30 days. Equipment bought under components 1 and 3 may not be sold or given away for 36 months after the contract is signed.
- ProBio: the deadline was 15 days from publication, ending on 2 September 2026. According to the call, the project is funded half by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (CIHEAM Bari) and half by the municipal budget, up to 20,000 EUR in total. No new call has been announced.
- The 2026 municipal budget was first adopted on 29 December 2025 at 4,063,060 KM. The municipal post on the budget says money is planned for farm production and for entrepreneurs, but gives no amount.
- On 15 September 2026 the municipal assembly adopted the draft revised 2026 budget (5,631,190 KM). Among the new revenues, the municipality lists 10,000 EUR of support for farm production secured through ProBio together with CIHEAM Bari. The amount is given in euros in the municipal post. It is project revenue, not a new call.
- On 28 September 2026, at its Fourth special session, the municipal assembly adopted the revised 2026 budget: revenues and receipts of 5,581,190 KM, expenditure of 5,551,190 KM and a budget reserve of 30,000 KM. This is now the municipality's budget in force. The post on the adopted revision does not list a separate amount for ProBio.
- In 2025 the municipality and Muslim Aid Association gave out 20 greenhouses of 100 m2 each with irrigation and planting material. Each beneficiary paid 10% of the cost. No such call for 2026 has been published on the municipal website.
