Gacko municipality issues a public call for farm subsidies every September, open for 11 days to three weeks. Up to 2,000 KM per household, with a 50% increase for farms engaged exclusively in agriculture. Applications go to Poljoprivredna zadruga Gacko (Agricultural Cooperative Gacko). By 7 October 2026 the 2026 call had not been published.
Gacko municipality supports farmers from its own budget through one main public call a year, open to registered farms in the municipality. Who it applies to
Individuals and legal entities with a registered agricultural holding on the territory of Gacko municipality. The conditions are set by the Pravilnik o dodjeli subvencija u poljoprivredi (Rulebook on the allocation of agricultural subsidies).
What to do
- Check that your holding is entered in the register and that the data is up to date.
- Check the municipality's official website in September and October. The call is published in Cyrillic and Latin script.
- Compare your farm with the minimum conditions in the call. The 2025 call listed: 5 dairy animals (no minimum number for animals of proven native breed, backed by a genotyping certificate), 8 fattening cattle (entry weight 250 kg), 10 farrowing sows or pregnant gilts (sows of at least 100 kg, gilts of 70 kg), sheep and goats "in a minimum number of 50 large head in the flock" (the call's own wording; it does not explain whether this means adult animals or livestock units, so ask the cooperative), 500 laying hens, 30 bee colonies, 500 fruit seedlings, at least 5,000 KM invested in livestock buildings, and co-financing of livestock insurance premiums. A household can receive support for one measure only, so choose the one that brings you the most.
- Collect proof: a copy of the animal passport or registration form, genotyping certificates, the marking certificate with the list of animal ID numbers, the invoice for laying hens and the farm registration decision, the beekeeper register entry, the invoice for seedlings, the programme or project and invoices for a livestock building, the insurance policy and proof of payment. To claim the 50% increase, add a signed and certified statement that the holding is engaged exclusively in agricultural production.
- Submit the application on the form from the Rulebook to Poljoprivredna zadruga Gacko (Agricultural Cooperative Gacko) before the deadline (phone 059/472-331). Take the exact document list from the current year's call, because it can change.
Deadlines and amounts
- Ceiling: 2,000 KM per household. We could not confirm whether the 50% increase applies to the ceiling or to the individual amounts, so ask the cooperative.
- We could not confirm per-head or per-measure rates in a source, so we do not give them. Check them in the Rulebook.
- The 2025 payout covered dairy animals, sheep, poultry, fruit growing, beekeeping, capital investments and premiums for breeders of the native Gatačko cattle. We found no separate conditions for that premium in the call, apart from the genotyping rule.
Support for business and employment
A separate municipal call for businesses, published on 9 October 2025, had a budget of 60,000 KM: 21,000 KM for self-employment (7,000 KM per person), 20,000 KM for new hires (5,000 KM per worker) and 19,000 KM for fixed assets (30% of the purchase value, up to 10,000 KM). The deadline was 24 October 2025 at 15:00.
The self-employment measure excludes trade and hospitality (bars and taverns). Check the conditions for new hires and fixed assets in the call itself. Information: 059/471-329 (Ranka Janjić). We have not yet seen the 2026 call.
