In 2026 Republika Srpska refunds 40% (20% for non-commercial farms) of eligible costs of processing equipment and new processing buildings, capped at 50,000 to 200,000 KM. The 2026 call closed on 6 May; applicants with a reservation decision must invest and file the payment request by 15 October 2026.
Each year Republika Srpska refunds part of the cost of equipment and buildings for processing farm products (dryers, cold stores, sorting and packing lines, small processing plants). For 2026 this is set by a separate rulebook on capital investments. It applies to farmers, entrepreneurs and companies entered in the Register of Agricultural Holdings (RPG).
In short
- Support is 40% of eligible costs (excluding VAT) for commercial family farms, entrepreneurs and legal entities, and 20% for non-commercial farms.
- The rate rises to 50% (25% for non-commercial) in cases such as a farm at 600 m altitude or higher, a holder or entrepreneur under 40 (born 1986 or later) or a woman, registered in the RPG by 31 December 2025, and organic or in-conversion production. The higher rate does not apply to legal entities.
- Cap per support basis: 50,000 KM (non-commercial farms), 100,000 KM (commercial family farms), 200,000 KM (entrepreneurs and legal entities).
- Minimum investment: 2,000 KM excluding VAT for family farms (article 18), 10,000 KM excluding VAT for businesses (article 19).
- The 2026 public call was open 15 days, until 6 May 2026. Investments counted from 1 January to 15 October 2026.
Who it applies to
- Natural persons (family farms) under article 18; entrepreneurs and legal entities under article 19. All need residence or a registered seat in Republika Srpska and an RPG entry.
- Excluded: holders with passive status in the RPG, those who skipped the yearly RPG data update, family farms whose holder did not declare 2025 contributions, those who did not pay the 2025 hail protection fee, and those who gave false data.
- If you already received support for the same building in the past three years, you cannot receive it again for building that structure (article 19).
What to do
- Watch for the public call on the websites of the Agencija za agrarna plaćanja (Agency for Agrarian Payments) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management. In 2026 the rulebook was published on 7 April and the public call on 21 April (the document is dated 20 April).
- Submit Form 1 (application) with pro forma invoices or copies of invoices. For a new building also the construction programme (Form 5) and a building permit less than three years old, or the request for one. One application per call, for one article only.
- If selected, you receive a decision reserving the funds with a deadline for the investment. The lists of beneficiaries are published on the Agency's page. If requests exceed the budget, applications are scored (for on-farm processing, article 18 only: more than 50% domestic raw material gives 20 points, 30 to 50% gives 10, proven by purchase contracts with domestic entities).
- Invest and pay through a bank account, and keep the bank statement certified by the bank with the payment purpose. For contracts for works and wholesale invoices this always applies. With a fiscal receipt and invoice, businesses always attach proof of payment through their business bank account, while natural persons must attach proof of payment from their personal account only for invoices of 30,000 KM and above (article 6). Equipment must be new.
- File the payment request (Form 2) with invoices, proof of payment, a certified declaration that you will not sell the equipment or building for three years (Form 3) and the permit for the building. A commission visits the farm before payment.
- Keep the documents at least three years after payment. False data means repayment and two years without support.
Not eligible, among others: VAT, used equipment, purchase of land and existing buildings, reconstruction and adaptation of buildings, leasing, transport and customs, payment in kind.
Deadlines and amounts
- 2026 public call: until 6 May 2026 (closed).
- Deadline to invest and file the payment request: 15 October 2026, which concerns applicants holding a reservation decision.
- The rulebook is reissued every year, so check the conditions for 2027 only once the new rulebook and call are published.
